Busch Family Home
When the Busch family needed a roof on their new home in Huntleigh, MO, McGuire Roofing & Construction started the project right away.
They began with a 1” plywood base over the tongue and groove cedar ceilings that had just been installed. Next, the team applied a layer of ice and water shield across the entire roof to protect the home year-round.
For a secure layer of insulation, McGuire Roofing & Construction used a 4” ISO Insulation board, covered by plywood and an additional layer of the ice and water shield for maximum protection.
This extensive preparation process ensures that the Busch Home would stay warm and dry in the extreme Eastern Missouri weather, and allow the family to economically cool or heat their home as needed.
The final step was to install the wood shake roof that the Busch Family selected. We secured the shingles with 2” stainless steel staples to ensure the life of the roof against strong wind and rain.
Overall, the entire project took one month to complete. The Busch Family is happily settled in their beautiful home, and McGuire Roofing & Construction is satisfied with another project well-done.

Year Completed: 2016
Value: $120,000
Jimmy Carter National Monument
In May of 2016, McGuire Roofing & Construction was asked to replace the existing roof on the Jimmy Carter National Monument in Plains, GA. The new roof would protect the boyhood home that Jimmy Carter grew up in, as well as a commissary where we worked.
The project held special significance, as the home was built by Jimmy Carter’s father in the 1920’s, using the original building plans purchased from Sears Roebuck. The National Park Service wanted to keep the integrity and original look of the structure, while updating it to safely protect this amazing piece of American history.
The new roof shingles were made of Cypress wood, as Cypress trees are native to the Georgia region. The project took 10 days to complete, and helped restore the Jimmy Carter National Monument to its former glory.
